						<title>Maryland Residents/High School Grads - Space Consortium Scholarship</title>
						
							<description>Nucleus Forum: Campus Life&lt;br /&gt;Thread: Scholarships&lt;br /&gt;Author: Melanie Markman&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Maryland Space Grant Consortium - 2012-2013 Scholarship Application&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Maryland Space Grant Consortium was established in 1989 under NASA&apos;s National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Maryland Space Grant Consortium offers financial support to Maryland residents or graduates of Maryland high schools who are enrolling as an undergraduate student in an affiliate institution who otherwise might not be able to attend college and who wish to pursue a career in math, science, engineering, or technolog, that is related to aerospace or will lead to an aerospace career.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Awardees must be U.S. citizens enrolled as full-time students at a Maryland Consortium campus. Consortium campuses include: The Johns Hopkins University, Morgan State University, Towson University, University of Maryland-College Park, University of MD Baltimore County, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and Hagerstown Community College.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Awards vary and must be used for tuition, books, fees and room and board.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Maryland resident or graduate of a Maryland high school.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Full-time student majoring in (but are not necessarily limited to): the biological and life sciences, chemistry, geological sciences, physics and astronomy, engineering and computer science.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Enrollment in an affiliate institution as noted above.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Awards are for one year, but are renewable (on a competitive basis) upon maintaining a 3.0 &lt;br /&gt;G.P.A.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Community service.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;DEADLINE:&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;All application materials are due by May 15, 2012 to the Maryland Space Grant Consortium. 						<title>College Scholarship Design Contest</title>
						
							<description>Nucleus Forum: Contests&lt;br /&gt;Thread: College Scholarship Design Contest&lt;br /&gt;Author: Natalie Burritt&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Scientific Equipment and Furniture Association (SEFA) based in Garden City is hosting a design competition for high school juniors and seniors.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;The scholarship awards range from $6,000 to $1,500. Students will design a piece of lab furniture or related equipment which the student(s) believe(s) would enhance the laboratory experience. Students can work individually or as a team of no more than three.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The competition provides a unique opportunity for teachers and parents to encourage and motivate students to participate, especially if they are interested in specific fields such as science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
