Description: MIRTHE develops knowledge, technologies and engineering systems for mid-infrared (3 – 30 ?m) spectroscopy and provides unprecedented optical and chemical trace gas sensing capabilities.  MIRTHE advances mid-IR tunable Quantum Cascade lasers, detectors, and ultra-sensitive sensor systems and demonstrates specific applications through testbeds in environmental sensing, homeland security and medical diagnostics.
Stipend: $500/week

Additional Information: Full time hands-on cutting edge research;  weekly teleconference calls and web-based training sessions with students from the six MIRTHE partner universities; short courses that expose the summer interns to a cross-disciplinary range of research fields.
