| Description: | The University of Chicago Summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program offers undergraduates the opportunity to gain research experience working in the laboratory or research group of a faculty member. The program is particularly intended at encouraging participation by members of underrepresented minority groups and women. Supplementing this practical experience in research, faculty present special talks providing an overview of the wide-ranging physics and materials research. Around 20 internships will be awarded for the ten-week program, June 16 through August 20, 2010. The stipend for the full ten-week program will be $4,500. Housing will be provided, and there will be modest travel expense reimbursement. |
